Zuka Private Game Reserve officially launched Getty Asterism in 2021. Zuka Private Game Reserve is the cornerstone property of a rewilded land assembly founded in 2001. It is 10,300 hectares of environmentally restored and protected northern Zululand and home to our multifaceted ecology venture: Getty Asterism.

Getty Asterism is bringing areas of ecology to front and centre for research and solutions. Innovative ideas are crafted in to formal projects, researched and via formal scientific processes, Getty Asterism results are pier reviewed and published.

Getty Asterism is a group of scientists and free thinking, passionate individuals with fresh perspectives cultivating ideas and forging relationships with established academics, faculties and organisations nationally and globally, to share dialogue and formal research.

Getty Asterism is a fully funded free rein space in varied habitats with close proximity to the Indian Ocean. We have dedicated infrastructure and equipment. We openly invite individuals to join the team, engage, research and experiment. Getty Asterism is a strongly invested space to enable the cultivation of ideas and innovation, to address the current ecological and environmental challenges.
